Queretaro International Airport (QRO) is the closest option. Another option is to fly to Mexico City and take a bus to San Miguel de Allende. It’s about a 4 hour ride but there are luxury buses for around $40 dollars each way. There is a company with good reviews called ETN Turistar (www.etn.com.mx) if this is a better option for you.

Mexico does not require visas for American citizens or Green Card holders. To our friends from Brazil: Mexico does require a visa for Brazilian citizens, except for those who hold a valid United States visa.
